As we come to the beginning of another year, I find myself experiencing a mixture of emotions, much more so than in previous years. Traditionally, we wish each other a “Happy New Year” at this time of year, but in all honesty, I do not see many reasons to be happy.

The Republic known as the united States of America is for all intents, dead. The ten Articles of the Bill of Rights have been consistently disregarded by the courts, always with the excuse that “government interests” are more important than personal liberty or privacy, as if the government ever was granted any legitimate power to disregard the limitations imposed on it by We the People.

The Unites States corporate government is currently being run by a man whose grandfather was a major financier for Adolph Hitler and the Third Reich. Grandpa Prescott Bush probably bounced little George W. on his knees. It is only natural that George would want to emulate his grandfather. To that end, President Bush has brought about the new Reich. Just two weeks ago, in a staff meeting at the White House, Bush called the Constitution, “A goddamned piece of paper!”

The Ohio legislature just passed S.9, the “Ohio Patriot Act”, which empowers police to arrest anyone who fails to provide proper identification on demand. “Papers, please?”

New York City has instituted draconian measures to deal with people who resist police controls by sending them to prison for as long as 15 years or even more!

And these are only a small sampling of the police-state mentality that has become endemic throughout the United States government and the corporate States.

And federal guidelines apply to any government or program that has taken or is even just eligible to receive federal funds. The price of the federal dole is always surrender of control to federal authorities. That is what states, counties and townships throughout America have done; they have made the federal government supreme. This is no longer a free country. It is a fascist dictatorship.

The American people are the most scrutinized, regulated and controlled people in the world! People who lived in Germany during the Nazi occupation are now leaving the United States because they see the fascist writing on the wall. Many people today regard eastern European countries as freer than America! Can you imagine that?!
America, the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave has metamorphosed into the Land of the Lazy, Complacent and Apathetic and the Home of the Greedy, Self-Interested and Immoral.

I see little hope of reversing this trend on a national level, but I do think there are opportunities for those people who are really willing to know the Truth, minority though they are, to circumnavigate the regulatory minefields that have been strewn throughout the country, and successfully preserve their individual freedom and property rights.
It is that small glimmer of hope that fuels my wishes to you of a Happy New Year. If you will take action – now – to protect and preserve those things that hold real value – your life, liberty, privacy and property rights – then you may actually be able to have a good year. For the rest of you, I draw your attention to an 1857 Frederick Douglass quote:
“The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.”

How much oppression are you willing to take? When is enough, enough?
In this new year of 2006, I invite you to get back to your spiritual roots, to listen to your conscience’s messages, and to restructure your lifestyle and priorities to place freedom, privacy and property rights at the top. If you have to change everything else in your life to accommodate these, then do so.

You were born with the right to be free. Don’t piss away that God-given heritage in favor of modern technological conveniences or debt-based economies. Stop self-destructing.

If you will only take action to reclaim the American Dream for you and your family, we could still have a very Happy New Year.
